PsychArmor’s Behind The Mission podcast surpasses 80 guests, 7K downloads

Educational tool spotlights guests, organizations that improve outcomes for military community

San Diego, CA - PsychArmor’s Behind the Mission podcast continues to reach new audiences and voices as an educational podcast tool for military-connected communities and those that support them. Each 30-minute episode spark conversations with leaders in the military and Veteran space about trending topics including: PTSD, suicide prevention, transitioning from service, food insecurity, and employment/education opportunities. Available on all podcast players, episodes also live on as additional resource material for content in PsychArmor’s online library of more than 250 free courses. 

Behind The Mission was created to share resources with PsychArmor learners, including employers, healthcare practitioners, educators, and the military-connected community. Each episode spotlights the great work of PsychArmor partners including: Team Rubicon, Wounded Warrior Project, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA)Blue Star Families, Sesame Street For Military Families and The War Horse. More than 80 guests have shared  their own service story, as well as in-depth explanations of the programs and organizations they represent. 

The host and producer, Duane France, is an Army Veteran and mental health provider. He has produced several military mental health-related podcasts, including a limited podcast series looking at suicide prevention in the miltiary-affiliated population in partnership with Military Times, Seeking the Military Suicide Solution. Duane’s voice captures firsthand the unique and challenging experiences of a Veteran, paired with interesting perspectives through the mental health lens.
