Yamillet Rivas joins PsychArmor as Chief Product and Innovation Officer

Army Veteran Rivas brings years of experience in product process and design, DEI initiatives

San Diego, CA--PsychArmor is pleased to announce the addition of Yamillet Rivas as Chief Product and Innovation Officer, responsible for designing new products as well as building on existing PsychArmor offerings. In her new role, Rivas will ensure that diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging for all Veterans and their families are at the forefront of product design and development. Rivas is an Army veteran based in the New York City metropolitan area.

Rivas joins PsychArmor from Prognos Health, a healthtech company where she worked to build products and teams that focused on democratizing access to data and supporting healthcare companies in their efforts to take a more patient-centric approach to drug development and other work. She had worked with the Psycharmor team as a consultant in the past, and the focus on social impact in the military and military-connected space became a strong pull for Rivas.

“I made the jump to the nonprofit sector to stay connected to a community that I care about. I want to make a difference and the non-profit space, particularly PsychArmor with their influence in  creating better access to care for Veterans, is primed for innovation,” says Rivas.   “I am delighted to join Tina Atherall and the amazing PsychArmor team as the head of product and innovation, and to lead our organizational commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.”

Rivas is a founding member of the Equity Army, a community of learners, builders, dreamers, and doers who are committed to ensuring everyone, especially historically marginalized groups, feel seen, validated, and uplifted as they move through the world and utilize products and services.

PsychArmor is a leading national nonprofit and preferred training provider which specializes in military cultural awareness and competency. Its offerings include online courses, curricula, podcasts, webinars, live speaking engagements, and social media.

“Adding Yami to the team is further evidence of our commitment to building inclusive and innovative products that best serve our partners’ needs in connecting with Veteran and military communities,” says PsychArmor CEO Dr. Tina Atherall. “Yami’s insights and expertise will directly and positively impact both parts of this mission as we focus on improved wellness and financial outcomes for America’s Veteran and military communities.”
